Abundance – Sharing Chesterfield’s Harvest

Abundance is a Transition Chesterfield project

Every year, tonnes of delicious fruit in Chesterfield’s gardens and orchards fall to the ground uneaten. Abundance rescues this produce, cuts food waste and provides fresh, local food for the community.

They have two apple picking events planned at Unstone Grange, Crow Lane, Unstone S18 4AL, on Wed 2nd September at 10am and Thurs 3rd September at 2pm.

There will also be another Apple Pressing Day at Holmebook Valley Park on Sat 26 Sep at 10am. Helpers are needed before the date and on the 26th itself. If you can help please contact Helen Loizou or Alison via the email above.

They are also collecting used 1 litre plastic bottles. Contact Abundance if you can help.

We are looking at options to see how to easily assist our members to contribute surplus apple crop to Abundance. Further information about this ASAP.
